BIOGRAPHY
A native of Springfield, Michael A. Fenton is a graduate of Cathedral High School and a cum laude honors graduate of Providence College. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and double minors in Business and Public Administration. At Providence, Michael was a member of the national political science honors society known as Phi Sigma Alpha. He is currently a student at Western New England College’s School of Law.
Michael has experience in local, state, and international politics. He worked for Congressman Richard E. Neal in both his Springfield and Washington D.C. offices. Fenton has also worked for Rhode Island State Representative Victor Moffitt in the Rhode Island Statehouse. Additionally, Michael spent part of 2007 working in London, England under the tutelage of John Hayes, a member of the British Parliament.
Along with his extensive experiences in politics, Michael also has an appreciation and understanding for business, which he developed during his studies at Providence College and while working for MassMutual Financial in 2008.
On November 3, 2009 Michael was elected to be the first City Councilor to represent Ward Two since the 1960s. At age 22, Michael is the youngest City Councilor in the long and illustrious history of the City of Springfield. |
